AIRWAVE COBRA - AIRWAVE'S NEWEST LTF 2
The Cobra has exceptionally high performance for its class and is as close to being a true 3-line glider as possible. It supersedes the top selling Mustang2.
Technology fed down from the Magic5 has given the Cobra a very low sink rate and an outstanding glide. This significant leap in performance comes from two important areas of development.
First, the Cobra has a new hybrid line configuration. For most of the span, there are only three lines, except high up in the center of the wing where short D lines branch off to give greater stability. The result is a 15% reduction line from the Mustang2, with the total length dropping 60m, from 385m to just 326m. Second, a new airfoil design and internal airflow management has helped increase the aspect ratio from 5.7 on the Mustang2 to 5.95.
Airwave's in-house design software estimated these advances would bring about an increase in glide of around 0.85. But software estimations are notoriously fickle, and real glide tests proved the figure wrong. The improvement in glide has been a whole point in glide! Leaps in performance often come at the price of security. However, having been dedicated to the pursuit of easy handling, Airwave is confident that you'll find the Cobra to be an easy and stress-free wing to fly and as accessible to as wide a range of pilots as its predecessor. UP KANTEGA XC - UP'S NEW LTF 1-2

The Kantega XC was designed for intermediate pilots with a yearning for thermal and XC adventures. Its forgiving nature coupled with very efficient thermalling characteristics, and its awe-inspiring glide at all speeds right up to the impressive 53km/h top speed, make it the perfect companion for everything from local flights up to long XC flights - both open distance and closed-circuit! The general consensus out there has always been that LTF 1-2 wings were good for local flights, and all right for downwind XC flying. However, the Kantega XC joins a very select club of intermediate wings offering the rare combination of high passive safety AND the good glide performance in accelerated flight so critically necessary for into-wind or cross wind gliding. In other words it is just what you need to complete that FAI triangle you have been working on all season, yet never too much of a handful for relaxed top-to-bottom glides. Available in April 2009.
